Overnight Oats with Banana & Berries
A make-ahead jar of creamy oats, banana, berries and peanut butter — five minutes tonight, breakfast sorted tomorrow.
Per serving, as written.
The easiest win in the fridge: five minutes the night before and breakfast is waiting for you. This version is built for taste first — creamy oats, sweet banana, a swirl of peanut butter — so it’s the one you’ll actually make on a Tuesday.
As it stands the protein comes mostly from the oats, milk and peanut butter; fold in a scoop of whey or swap part of the milk for Greek yogurt and it pushes well past 30 g without changing the character of the jar. The maple syrup and peanut butter are the things to ease back if you’re trimming.
No chia? Leave it out — the oats alone still thicken beautifully overnight.
Ingredients
- 60 g rolled oats
- 180 g milk
- 1 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- 1 pinch fine salt
- 1 tbsp peanut butter
- 1/2 banana, sliced
- 60 g mixed berries
- 1 tsp cocoa nibs
Method
- In a jar or bowl, stir the oats, milk, maple syrup, chia seeds and salt together until everything is combined.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight (or at least 4 hours) — the oats and chia soak up the milk and go soft and creamy.
- In the morning, give it a stir and loosen with a splash more milk if you like it looser.
- Swirl through the peanut butter and top with the sliced banana, berries and cocoa nibs.
